It started with a typical story of a mother choosing kids over career, only to realize how confusing and chaotic parenting is, as opposed to the structured life of one's career. My realization came when I combined the common denominator between my career as an architect and my calling as a mother; Creativity.  Instead of carving out buildings I now shape the minds of my kids.

I had years of training before becoming an architect but no training for being a mother, I therefore looked to science and research to learn more about child development and the infant brain that I found myself responsible for shaping. Play, it appears is the chisel and creativity, the hammer. I combined my architectural passion with my desire to be a better mother and designed creative activities that nurture core skills to develop my children’s abilities and life skills. This realization and the outcomes were worth sharing with as many parents as possible to hopefully ease their journey into parenthood. I started mkandm with the sole aim of sharing some 21st century parenting techniques, tools and products.
