Wheat are you doing?



It's Wednesday We-play, today we practiced scooping and filling while learning about wheat and the color yellow. We recycled toilet paper to create the shape of the wheat then filled it with colored rice and beans :) we counted as we played and it was a super fun activity.


You’ll need:

- Toilet paper roll

- Glue

- cardboard

- Marker

- Colored rice/ grains/ beans/ pasta (anything available)


How:

Cut the toilet paper rolls into smaller sections, glue it onto the cardboard in the shape of wheat, then have your kids fill the wheat sections with colored rice. This activity is great as a sensory experience, it helps children coordinate their hand movements with what they are seeing and feeling. Also the

Scooping and filling help develop fine motor skills as well as using math concepts such as less and more.


This activity proved successful for

ages 2 yrs +

(Adult supervision at all times)
